It was really nice and white when I bought it but after a very short time the color wore off and now it's more like a brownish grey ugly looking thing. -- Perre You have to be smarter than a robot to reply. |

IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT COLOR YOUR SADDLE IS, YOU STILL NEED TO WEAR YOUR SHORTS! |

There are some shoe dyes that will restore the finish but most of them are just surface finishes that leave you with a white butt. |

I think some of those saddles might be Fizik saddles, too. They make one with a distinctive tail on it. It comes to a blunt point rather than having a flat tail. -- Ryan Cousineau, rcousine@sfu.ca http://www.wiredcola.com President, Fabrizio Mazzoleni Fan Club |

So you don't think I wear cycling shorts either do you? White butt, my ass! Let me tell you! Here in Sweden we wear cycling shorts on top of XC skiing long johns and a wetsuit to go on top. You heard Hushovds comments about the weather didn't you. When asked about the rain and cold after his win today he just laughed and said he was sitting really comfy not minding it a bit since it was just like home. Of course that was a small lie since the rain usually turns into snow where he comes from ![]() -- Perre You have to be smarter than a robot to reply. |

The wetsuit is mainly to keep you from freezing your ass of when it is not snowing. Ie when it is raining instead. Yesterday was rain and probably 12-14 degrees Celsius. -- Perre You have to be smarter than a robot to reply. |

On a more serious note. Yesterday was 12-14 degrees Celsius and rain. Under my jersey I wore one of these undershirts that look like a net with windstopper material in the front. Arm and legwarmers. After about two hours I had slowly chilled to the point where I broke out my rainjacket. Lots of vaseline on the butt to keep the water from the back tire away. I wish summer would hurry up and get here ;(( -- Perre You have to be smarter than a robot to reply. |

It is of interest to me because I > ride through the winter as well. In the winter I remove arm and legwarmers and wear longlegged bibs over my cyclingshorts and a winter jacket. The jacket and longleged bibs have a windstoppper up front and very soft kind of warm breathable material on the back. It is not enough to walk or stand still, but as soon as I start riding it's all I need down to -15 Celcius. This is for training rides and we usually don't go if it's colder than -10. The trick here is to keep the sweat from staying next to the body. I think this net undershirt with the windstopper up front is my secret weapon actually. Since I got that I've never been cold from moisture on the body. I don't really know what it's called in english and the only brandname I can find on it is "DRY". Don't know if that is a company or what. Commuting to work I'll just kinda wear anything at all as long as it's warm enough. Not going fast enough to break a sweat going through downtown Stockholm so it isn't really necessary to wear technical clothing. -- Perre You have to be smarter than a robot to reply. |
