Default Kirsten Gum's 2004 performance enhancements

For those of you who watch bike racing on OLN (an American cable TV
channel), I have two questions:

1. Silicone or saline?

2. What are the aero advantages of the new nose?

Do a google search, this has already been discussed.

Peter:

Rec.bicycles.racing is the place for such questions, and it's already been
discussed there rather extensively. The only danger in checking out the
action on rec.bicycles.racing is that you might not want your wife looking
over your shoulder, reading some of the responses.

You haven't been spending enough time on your bike lately, have you?
Grizzly Peak in two weeks, Sequoia Century just down the road in June!

Mt. Hamilton Challenge is even sooner, this Saturday. Too bad that
you're working Saturdays, Mike. There should be a pretty good size
group of us grizzled old mountain goats there for a 7:30 start.

They're negated by her pounds of makeup.

I did. It hasn't. I was commenting on her (ridiculous) "new look",
nothing else. Heck, even my wife noticed.

You're really not being fair, y'know? Telling me about all those cool rides
that run on Saturdays... I have enough time keeping the rest of the staff
on-hand for Saturdays (by far our busiest day of the week); it would look
pretty bad if the boss took off! Of course, I could always rationalize that
it was work-related, since we'd be putting up a page on our website, right?

Besides, there's this bike race in July (one of our busiest months) that I
tend to take a couple weeks off to go see, so I really shouldn't be
complaining *too* much.

Do you still have to bring your own bag lunch? 22 years ago, I
was the first finisher on that ride -- and I did not start early
or cheat! Woohoo. Got to take a victory wherever you can get
it. I really miss Mt. Hamilton, especially this time of year when
the peaks near PDX still have snow on them. I also miss being
able to climb. -- Jay Beattie.

Yes, you have to pack three seperate sacks for three different rest
stops. Although there's talk among the gang about making a coffee
stop in Pleasanton in place of rest stop 3.

That ride doesn't ever fill up, does it? I had thought
about doing it but would have to do day-of. Plus I still
don't know if I have that day free.

I hope it doesn't fill up, since I didn't send in my advance
payment. I'll be there early Saturday, with my $25 and my food sacks.

How's the weather been up there lately?

You can always see for yourself at the Ham Cam page:

There is a link at the top of the page for current weather conditions.

I'll see you there!
Actually, the Mt. Hamilton Challenge opens at 6:00am
In the past I've hit the road about 6:40am after check-in.
Bikes have to go through a safety inspection, on most bikes, just checking
the brakes.
