Default The best at U23 Nationals

I have only been racing for a year and I am thinking about going to
the Espoir National Championships. I dont know that many racers and I
was curious who I need to watch out for? Who is the best?

Thanks,

I don't know that many either, but I'd say: everyone.

Are you at least a Cat. 2? If not, don't bother going as you won't
be able to race at U23 Nationals I don't believe. I could be wrong.

I am a cat 2 and I have placed high in several races. I am good at
the time trial also. I have a new trek equinox 9 with a fast carbon
wheel set. I just wanted to know who some of the best u23's were in
the country thats all.

Any of the kids who ride for my IRA...oh, you should look out for that
other Bouchard-Hall kid. Then there's the Milne kid, and Mike
Dietrich, oh and...

Well you get the idea that there are a bunch of guys so don't bother
watching any one guy. Surely someone must have told you how to race a
bike; marking one guy is a good way to lose! I would forget your
fancy equipment too! No, I'm not being a dick (OK, maybe I am), but
that bike won't win you anything, particularly if your position sucks.
You need to go there well trained and ride your own race. If you're
good and lucky you'll turn a top 10...Good luck either way.

NO SHIT! Kevin and Mike Barton were absolutely flying on a tight, technical
crit course. I had an interesting ride leading them on the motor. I would've
loved to try turning some hot laps to see what the difference would've been
between my best and theirs. I'm guessing it wouldn't have been more than 15
seconds a lap on my sport tourer dragging a knee.

KBH is really showing signs that he will be able to follow in his
brother's footsteps should he choose to do so. I too saw him and
Barton duke it out in Burlington; best sprint I've seen in a while
(Kevin won it). Then Georgia. That was a head-turner. I think he
has a real chance to get it done in Park City.

Is Mike Creed, Patrick Mccarty, Will Frischkorn, Sean Milne, and Saul
Raisin Stll epoirs? I saw that this was the team at the World
Championships. Also how about that Duggans guy?

Don't go by World's team selections alone...USAC is notorious for
leaving guys out. All those guys are very good, but I saw some in
justice leaving both our U-23 and Elite national champions home;
forget lack of experience, they one on the day and should have had an
extra plus sign next to their name.

Saul is riding for Credit Agricole's U-23 team, but would probably
skip Nationals; its kinda meaningless now.
