Default Cunego - shades of Fignon

I sure hope Martinelli has a nice Fireside Chat with Guimard.

Quoting and translating from memory from a long ago interview in ``Velo'' magazine, Guimard said: ``In retopect, I wouldn't even have allowed Fignon to ride the two Tours de France that he did win.''

Apparently Guimard thought Fignon was just too young.

The obvious reparte is that maybe Guimard should then not have been DS!

Guimard not only allowed Fignon to ride the Tour and the Giro the same year
at 23, but even insisted on it to please the sponsor (Renault). That was a
crime.

It was my impression that Guimard ruined more than one set of knees with
his theories on high saddle heights and big gears.
