Add Freddy to the rather short list. As I recall the only others are
Keifel, Lemond and Hampsten. (I may be wrong about Lemond but I think he won a timetrial at some point). |

Two times an American took first place in a major stage race, both times coming in 2nd on the stage to the same man, Eric Breukink: Andy Hampsten in the stage over the Gavia Pass Greg LeMond in the Lac de Vassiviere time trial in the TdF. |
