Hello! I've just relocated to the VA/MD/DC area. I've been riding for just over a year - moved from just northwest of Atlanta. I'm quite excited about all the great trails in the area - I rented my apartment just because it was so close to '4 mile run' trail which will get me to lots of other great trails.
So I'm asking where should I start - what is your favorite trail in the area? I've found lots of great information online but am looking for some of your personal favorites. Also are there any trails or parts of trails that aren't well paved that I should avoid? And one last thing... any one got any news about local events where I can go watch some of the TDF? Thanks for the info! |

The w&od is the longest and easiest to access for training purposes. Its also one of the most boring after you've been over it a dozen times. 4 mile trail runs into the Mt Venon Trail. If you dont mind either going out early or lots of people/traffic, its a relativly nice ride to Mt Vernon and back Stop by the Java Shack in clarndon. There's a team that is based out of there. Also Revolution Cycles, also in Clarndon, is a great source of info. Reston bicycle club also has Tues and Thurs night rides that are very well attended if your interested |
