Default Mt. Palomar anyone climbed it?

I want to know a little more info. about Mt .Palomar before I climb it. I scoped the way there and made it to the base of it. I went through Lake Wholford rd. and it was a 2 mile 7% grade with rolling hills after. I did not know that so I was a little worn out and wasn't really sure what I was up against. Can someone tell me what grade it is climbing from the SOuth Grade rd.? I kow it is 7 miles long with a lof of switch back compared to the East Grade rd. which is 11 miles long and fairly straight. I am doing hill repeats on a 3 mile 7% grade once a week to prepare me for Mt. Palomar. Any suggestions to make sure I climb Palomar without setting foot on the road? Thanks.
