Hello All
Is it just me, or does the weather this year seem wet and mild compared to previous years? I am curious as to your take on this subject. |

Well, DUH! Weather Network can't seem to be anywhere close to figuring out what the weather is. Last year it was simply "Hot and humid". This year it's... "Uhhhhh.."
Seriously, I was watching one of the news channels that commented on it and they did a comparison of precipitation results for July 2003 and July 2004.In addition, the temp is certainly lower (cooler). Environment Canada's July 2004 for Ontario in Review Quite honestly, it's annoying. Times when they've said it'd be 20% chance of rain, it pours. Times when they've said 80%, it's sunny. How the heck am I supposed to plan a tour with that? At this point I've given up and am looking into wetsuits for my trip now. ![]() |

just look at the number of High Risk smog alerts we've had this year compared to the past.... maybe 5 days this year so far, and this time last year where we had more like 15 to 20.
I'm all for these cooler more comfortable tempuratures |

I've been year round biking for 12 years in Toronto. I don't bike if it is colder that -25 or there is fresh snow of 10cm or more or if I believe it to be too dangerous. I measure the winters in days lost. My best winter was about 5 years ago when I lost 3 days to weather, the worst 17. Last year I lost 15 days. So far this year I have lost 4 days. Environment Canada forcast 15cm of snow tonight...make that 5 days lost. |
