Default Long rides and lots of water . . .

What do other women do on long rides when they have to urinate? I ride with a group of all men and I am so embarrassed to make them stop at the gas station so I can pee. We did a century this weekend and fortunately I was fine, but had I had to stop, that would have killed my time and I would have lost my group. I have hear that men can go off the side of the bike, do women do that too? I tried one time and couldn't do it. No amount of psyching up could get the let down I needed. SO. . . what do you girls do?

Well, first of all I ride with gentlemen who do not mind stopping (so long as you're not in a race). Second, if you're riding in the country a strategically placed bush or guys facing the other way works fine.

i have wondered about this, i mean in a race men go because they don't want toloose there place, especially if they are winning, i think if i tried i would not have a problem going while riding, but i have never been in a situation where i needed to try or wanted to try, i mostly ride by myself and in fairly public places, that and it seems sorta gross, but if i was in a race or something, i think i would just go and then empty the rest of my water all over myself

It's called a FUD, female urinary device. Freshette is one of the brand names but there are others. Campmor and REI sell them. With one of these, you too can write your name in the snow!
