Tub tape isn't meant for racing, things like riding down a mountain.
To get them in top condition they need to be glued on to the rim, every decent store that sell tubulars will have the appropriate glue.

usually people develop their own methods as they go and find out what works for them.
1. don't mix glues 2. thin layers on rim and base tape, repeat after 24 hours drying time, 2 or 3 minimum on a fresh rim. 3. don't mount until the last layer is tacky, about 15 minutes after applying. 4. check tyre seats straight on the rim, pump it right up and let it sit for a day |
