I've purchased a pair of Shimano PD-M520 pedals.
In the box are the pedals, 2 cleats, 2 oblong "washers" which fit inside the recess of the cleat, 4 bolts. And that's it. I am missing the plate which fits inside the shoe, into which the bolts screw. Should these have come with my pedals or should they have come with my shoes? TIA -- Amazon: "If you are interested in 'Asimov's I-Robot', you may also be interested in 'Garfield - The Movie'. ... erm, how do they figure that one out? |

My Shimano shoes came with the plate, visible when the central rubber part of the sole was removed. -- Eiron. |

IME the gubbins on the shoe end of things has always come with the shoes. This is necessary as not all shoes have internal access to allow you to insert plates. I'm not sure because most of the shoes I've bought had plates installed as standard except my newest pair which have a lift out sock liner with a plate as described fitted, this is covered by a stick-on patch which I vaguely recall sticking on. The evidence in my case points to the plates coming with new pedals especially as.... I have found in my garage 2 sets of the plates you're short of, so if you are stuck for a set e-mail me and I'll bung a set in the post to you. Pete |

Same content you described. IIRC the plates you mention came with the shoes. Brian |
