It's time to scrap the 2 kg of ballast I call cheap front suspension
as it stopped working a long time ago, the insides having been hammered into mush. Forks are advertised as having canti bosses. Can I fit my vbrakes on these? I had an idea they were different. TerryJ |

Check they are for 26" (ETRO 559) rims, not 700c (ETRO 622) (assuming you want them for an MTB.) Out of interest, becouase I have a similar set of front nolongersuspension forks, what are you getting and how much are they? ...d > > TerryJ > |

My lbs sells claude butler etc which is what mine is, so the fork is a
disposable rather cheap thing, not servicable. He will fit a rigid alloy fork as put on some claude butler city hybrids for very little money, and that is probably what I should go for. I looked at the wiggle forks and was attracted to Kinesis Crosslight 3 and Surly Cross Check CX, the latter because the axle to crown distance is generous enough to be similar to the old forks, and I will be able to keep my fat tyres. One has to consider the effect on the front end that fitting lower forks might have. I look forward to the reduced weight and more positive steering.I don't think I will miss the suspension. TerryJ |
