Default It's cool apparently

Just spoken to Nathan on his mobile (he's in a free period at college).
Apparently the Ice T is a seriously cool object of desire amongst college
inhabitants, with people wanting to have a go on it. I do believe it may be
doing circuits of the car park. I shall find out more when the offspring
returns home later today ;-)

Cheers, helen s

Indeed, but it's good to see that the average teenager finds it cool too. It
sort of makes my mid-life crisis seem a little less mad... riding a 'bent,
listening to Green Day & Jimmy Eat World... The only reason Nathan isn't taking
me to a Green Day concert in May is that it's the same day as a time trial!

Cheers, helen s

No, it doesn't. It has mudguards all round & two rear view mirrors. Do they
count?

Heheheh in a spookily similar vein I have strict instructions to find
and purchase Green Days 'American Idiot' by my 12 year old. Took me a
while to figure it's a song and he wants the CD ...

Don't know if this is something you consider, but the lyrics on the CD are
parental advisory. Plenty of the "f" word being used. My favourite track on the
album is "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", followed by "Holiday", "Give Me
Novacaine" and "American Idiot" Nathan was most surprised to find me singing
along to said tracks ;-)

Itunes (or similar) solves this kind of thing. I have a standing order
to give my son a few quid a month on his itunes account.

Next on the shopping list?
(seriously I find it pretty indispensible in wet weather as I *hate*
water on my face when riding)

-2 for the guards + 4 for the mirrors.

But billions for the light sabre....

I take the view that if he hears it when we're also listening, and we
make 'no big deal' of it, then they may realise that swearing isn't big
or clever.

We don't allow them to swear at all, but recognise that they will whilst
out with friends maybe, and that they'll hear it all on TV anyway ...
and to be honest, they do hear it from me occasionally, whilst outside
the influence of swmbo ..
