Default Intervals on Powertap vs. Pro

I'm looking at buying a new powermeter, and was curious about the differences between the powertap and pro models. I've done a bit of reading, and the display isn't a real concern for me, nor is the cadence for my training. My major concern is the ability to do intervals on the powertap vs. the pro.

In the past year I never did an interval of fewer than 4 minutes, and at most had 8 repeats of those. I doubt I would use more than 9 intervals in a session, however I probably will this year since I'm not focusing on TTs, and instead will be trying to do some local crits and road races. My other concern is with the rolling averages- which I understand the power tap doesn't do, while the pro does. I just don't have any first hand experience on how this would affect my intervals.

My current options are to get the powertap and save some cash. If the intervals are a limiter in training, I can always just use the computer as a data recorder and run the intervals off my watch- no biggie- I can sift through the data file on the computer to mark the intervals. Or I can spend the extra cash and get the simplicity of 1 unit- is the rolling average worth it?

Anyone have some working knowledge of how these are functionally different for a training plan? Thanks...

I won't comment in gory detail but I believe the Pro is worth the extra $$. I haven't read one report where someone regretted the purchase ....
