OK, so maybe its not a grand tour, but the Tour de Georgia is the biggest we have in the U.S. and last year provided some great moments.
I got to see two stages last year, including the ride up Brasstown Bald. Now I know how the folks across the pond feel as they watch these guys go by.
I got to ride up to Brasstown and find a perch and wait for the riders.
Too bad you won't make it this year, Lance. But, since you can't make it, is Sheryl busy that week?

That's because LA is very interested in Amstel Gold, which occurs in the Netherlands on April 17 Amstel Gold Race.

That's too bad. I got to see Lance win Stage 3 plus the TT last year in Rome (GA). Still will be worth going back this year. It is amazing watching these guys close up....a whole 'nother level of sport.

Discovery will have a team there but Lance is doing the spring classics

chin up! The same release about him riding the '05 TdF says he is indeed riding Tour de Georgia this year.

The Brasstown Bald stage was great, wasn't it?
It may be an even bigger crowd up there this year, though. Hard to imagine as crowded as it was that day.

I rode the "Circle the Baldy" ride just before the pros came thru. I had to walk on one part of Owl Creek Road (?). I felt bad for having to walk. Then, on "Road to the Tour" LA and Johann were talking about the Tour de GA and Johann mentioned that the toughest part would be the climb just before the Baldy, which was Owl Creek. I felt a little better.

This year Owl Creek will be mine.....OH YES, it will be mine.

I guess he didn't trust Sheryl being here, alone, in Georgia with me.

Were you one of the guys giving Cipo a push?

No, but I did see him going up that hill. He looked beat. It kinda made me feel better knowing a pro could look as bad as I felt, trying to go up that hill.
