Ontario, and indeed Canadian cyclists, should be thanking the Ste-Catharines Cycling Club (SCCC) without them there would be little road racing in southern Ontario, the Niagara Peninsula or the Golden Horseshoe. See below for information on the 2005 Niagara Hamilton Classic Maybe the SCCC should be getting funding from the McMaster Cycling Foundation and the CCA-Hamilton Foundation since part of the announced legacy was supposed to the a big annual race in Hamilton that has never happened? Since SCCC is doing the work for the CCA, McMaster Cycling Centre and City of Hamilton why not give them some of that CCA-Hamilton Foundation money that is supposed to be sitting somewhere that so far has never been touched and that so far we have yet to hear if even there is a working committee doing anything with it, since we have never seen their Annual Report that was due back in December 2004, according to CCA President Bill Kinash: just one more objective he has failed to meet. Will we ever see that report before you are voted out of office, Bill? Will we ever see financials posted on the CCA website? How about the CCA Constitution? Will we ever see that on the CCA web site? Will the public ever really understand how you got elected and, more importantly, how best and most expediently to get rid of you? Will the merchandising tab on the CCA web site ever work? Will the CCA ever sell anything for a profit apart from its jerseys sold to its own riders when they are representing the country? Will we ever have an official, published prize list for the "New" "National" Road Cycling Series that is neither new nor national but is just around the corner? Will we have the rules to that series soon? Will we have another 2/3rds of a national road championships in Kamloops again or will the CCA come to its senses (cents) and finally market the sport of cycling in this country as it is supposed to be marketed by re-instating an Official National Criterium Championship like in the US and dozens of other countries around the world? Will you resign Bill, or drag the CCA down more until in November when you can finally be dumped for somebody who knows what they are doing? Why so many questions and so few answers from you, Bill? Here is one more: how long can you hide? 2005 Niagara Hamilton Classic The St. Catharines Cycling Club is proud to host the 2005 Niagara-Hamilton Classic Stage Race - Sponsored by Cramaro Tarpaulin System and Nella Cutlery and Food Equipment. This year's Niagara-Hamilton Classic features the classic road race in Pelham on Sunday (May 22nd) followed by a downtown Hamilton criterium on the holiday Monday (May 23rd). The road race will take place in the picturesque and historic Town of Pelham. The course will be on roads familiar to Ontario road racers, however the course is completely new. A challenging, winding and rolling 12.3 km course through the vineyards and orchards of Ontario's Fruitland has been created with a Start/Finish atop Saylor's Hill. The criterium will consist of the return of bicycle racing to the downtown streets of the City of Hamilton on a course similar to that used for the criterium at the 2003 National Championships. Riders will enjoy the downtown racing atmosphere and the long races. If numbers warrant, the Women's field will have their own race. Designated as a stage race, riders can only sign up for both stages. Online registration is available at canadiancyclist.com until midnight, May 17th. THERE WILL BE NO DAY OF REGISTRATION. The Road Race stage of the Niagara-Hamilton Classic will also be used as criteria for the Canadian Games Selection. More information will be posted shortly. For more information on the Niagara-Hamilton Classic, please visit http://www.stcatharinescc.com. A technical guide can be downloaded from the St Catharines Cycling Club website (very soon) or the OCA website. Last edited by Eddie Arzouian : 28-04.-2005 at 09:56 AM. Reason: typos |

Surely you must have some thoughts on some of this? You come to this forum to read my posts but return to Pedal and CC to discuss them? That's funny. Well, keep reading. |
