I live in central Mississippi and am on the look-out for bike tracks and bike-friendly (well, as much as can be expected around here) roads.
I'm in Rankin County, which has lots of country roads of varying quality, and I've found a number of these. I've also found info on Longleaf Trail and several maps on the Jackson Metro Cyclists site. And of course I know of the Natchez Trace. Any other suggestions? Of course, I'd love to hear from other Mississippi cyclists, if only to give a nod. |

Replying to my own post here, because I've been tracking down things that may be of interest to other MS cyclists....
MS Dept of Transportation has a good deal of handy info on biking MS, including a complete listing of bike-related laws, copious maps, touring info, etc. http://www.gomdot.com/bicycling/default.htm

Thanks for the info! My mother lives in Southwest MS & I love to take my bike down there & ride. After riding around Atlanta, the rural roads with light traffic will be a delightful! The hybrid will definitely come in handy in MS as the road surfaces tend to change frequently.
