We are 2 women wanting to do a cycle tour of Italy for a month this summer. So far we have a flight to Pisa, and are trying to plan where we should tour. We could get on a train and go to a different area of Italy to begin our tour. Anyone got any suggestions of areas and routes? We were worried about the famous hills of Tuscany and thought perhaps we should start off elsewhere to break ourselves in first. Then come back to Tuscany for the 2nd 2 weeks. Anyone got any intermediate level route ideas in flatter areas of Tuscany?!
We were planning on just turning up at places and finding somewhere to stay. But are we going to have problems in July & August? Can anyone recommend a book of B&B's (like Gites in France)? Also can anyone recommend a brand of map of Italy that's equivalent to Ordinance Survey quality? Needs to be about 1:25 000 or finer so we can find routes. Cheers. |
