What are the primary differences between the 05 Specialized Hardrock Sport and Trek 4300? Why would one chose one over the other?
I was thinking of using this bike to go to work and also the occasional trail. |

they're very similar bikes. eitehr one should suit you very well. both have the mechanical disc brakes--trek's shimano and specialized's tektro. the front derailleur on the specialized is a bit better. is there much a price difference? the specialized hardrock sport disc msrp: $440; the trek 4300, i think may be a bit more--but i'm not sure. i would make the choice ased on which one feels right. which one you feel like is your bike. pesonally, i'd choose the specialized, but tha's just me.
for mostly commuting and some trails, both bikes are very nice!Quote:
