Default Erie Canal Towpath

We are planning on riding sections of the Erie Canal Towpath between Lockport and Rochester, or Palmyra, with our 3 kids (ages 16, 9 and 2). Looking for recommendations of senic sections and motels along or close to the Towpath. We will probably ride 20 miles every second or third day, and drive to attractions in the area on the off days. Thanks.
