I was on the Northern Tier route riding through Montana in 1995 and was in the process of buying some snacks at a local gas station before heading over to the campground for the night. As I was paying for snacks, three guys walked into the store and one of them catched my eye; I knew that guy! It was Greg Lemond and his buddies on a fishing trip!
It was July and Lemond had just retired from pro racing. He said he was in Montana trying to avoid the race and forget that he wasn't there. He was really cool about giving us an autograph, taking some pictures, and wishing us a good trip. What's your most memorable tour experience? 2wheelwill |
