this is a move that would make huge sense for both parties
for jan: - a change of pace would be good - maybe discovery could light a fire under his butt - a real team devoted to helping him win - IF discovery does have special PED access, well all the better ![]() for discovery: - instant publicity, absolutely huge buzz - instant contender credibility - jan is probably the 2nd best known cyclist in the US - they engendered a lot of hate by having lance constantly dominate. whoever their leader is next year, a lot of people will be rooting for them to fail . . . unless the co-opt them all by giving jan a shot ![]() |

Vino, maybe, after today. I doubt Jan will change anything except maybe Tours.

He looks far too spiffy in pink to change teams.

Doubtful. Jan appears to me to be just about as German as can be (completely IMHO). Just about everyone else in the peloton can speak another language (including most of the english speaking riders) and he only gives interviews in German.
I doubt that he would move from a German team (even if Discovery wanted him) unless absolutely forced (as in the year he moved to Bianchi when Team Coast folded).

apparently he CAN speak at least some english, but it's heavily accented and he really avoids using it (of course it could have something to do with english-language publications always always asking his opinion on armstrong ) |

Possibly would piss Vino off considering he's rumoured to be going there himself. |

Agreed : If JU was to move anywhere it would be to another German team (Gerolsteiner and DS Udo Bolts being favourite. Bolts and JU were team mates at Telekom for years). JU is as German as can be : I can't see JU ever voluntarily moving from TM. Even when Bianchi moved heaven and earth to get that deal together in 2003 (which shows the esteem that JU has within the cycling world), he always seemed to refer to TM in his public utterances. |
