Question Watching Alpe d'Huez at Le Tour

Can anyone please help...

Some friends and I are driving from England down to France to watch the Alpe d'Huez mountain stage at this year's Tour de France. We aim to be at the town itself two days before, but have no idea where the best place to camp/board would be, or where the best positions are to watch the race from. Has anyone done this before that could offer some advice?
