Default How many more would Lance win?

Do you think Lance would still be the favorite to win next year if he was not retiring?
How about in 2007?

possibly 9 tour wins!

I think that question is difficult to answer, because so much of how a Tour rider performs over such a grueling discipline is related to motivation. Lance says he's retiring because he wants to spend more time with his children; I suspect that the desire of winning another GC is just a bit less now that he has the record, and the record for stage wins or days in yellow are out-of-reach, and not really his passion anyway (although I do think he had the specific intent of passing the Badger to get to second place for the latter).

So even if Armstrong was physically capable of winning another Tour or two, I don't think he'd necessarily be able to mentally dedicate himself to the task any longer. And that focus and dedication is what makes him so good at this in the first place.
