Need some advice.
On some days I (due to work) have little time left in the day for riding. Could someone please give me some ideas on what would be a good workout on the bike given that there may be only 30mins - 60mins between the end of work and Dad duties with the kids sport on some days. There is a fairly quiet road near me measuring about 1km in length which is quick to get too and back from. Cheers Skull |

Is riding to and from work out of the question?

If I'm pushed for time (Which is most weeks) I arrive home at 5:30, pull on the bike gear, warmup by riding to a hill which is about 3 k's away, climb the 3 k's up the hill (which takes forever cos' it's steep and I'm a big rider) and then have fun hurtling down the hill and cool down on the way home.
It's a maximum ride of 25 mins but it's hard and keeps the legs moving. I'm often home and showered before 6:30...

Commuting on bike is the answer: compulsory exercise. You won't look back after you start...

To all those that have suggested to commute to work...been there done that but having recently changed jobs, now working on sites, riding to work is not an option.

How about getting out of bed an hour earlier and riding before work. It will blow the cob webs out for the day and you will not run out of time at the other end. Get it done before the kids get up. You would be surprised how many ppl are out exercising at 0500. Initially it takes a lot of commitment to get going but soon it will be "normal" Hugh |

you mean you need to dress up for clients? it is a tricky one... what about multimode then? maybe you might need a panniered up bike to bring your clothes along really, if commuting is not an option, then early wakes are the only other thing to do
