I am going to Milan for a couple of weeks and am interested in hooking up with some group rides or at least another rider while I am there. Is it similar to the US where you'll have organized group rides? If so, if anyone knows the number to any bike shops in the area that might be able to pass along some info.

Hi-
We will be in Milan in Sept. 2006 for a few days before going cycling in the northern lakes distrist. We would like to cycle around Milan while we are there. What was your experience? Cordially, Joni Quote:

Joni,
This will be my first time there so I'm afraid I do not have much personal experience to share. I have had a reply to my post giving me the website of a shop in Milan that may be helpful. www.dettopietro.com. This was the only reply I have received. Sorry I could not be of more assistance. Ciao, Darren

Thank you for the reply. I misunderstood and thought you had already gone and have returned. I did check the web site but didn't get much from it. We found a Lonely Planet book on Amazon--Cycling Italy--it's a great resource. We'll be in the Lakes District for one week but in Milan for a couple of days first.
Thanks again- joni Quote:

You may want to post on www.bicidacorsa.com, there are quite a few riders in the Milano area who would be able to give you all the ride info that you need (I am from Rome, so of no help at all).
Enjoy the trip!

Pete,
Thank you for the site address. I will actually be in Rome as well, from Sept 12 to the 15th. It is during the week and I will be there with family, So any riding I do will be early morning. I have two questions: Is Roman automobile traffic dangerous and do you know of any organized group rides during the week? Thanks, Darren
