Normal shocks - if this wat you mean by single crown forks. They are light, mostly used by cross country, mx, dirt jumpers, and some freerider. double lock ups- is this dual crown??- heavier but stronger. mostly used by downhillers and extreme freeriders. leftys. - use by mx riders and dirtjumpers. If you like to just ride, cruisea round, dirt jumps or mountain cross look for forks with just 3 to 4 inch of travel , if you're a freeride type of rider look for 5 to 6 inch of travel, but if you ride dowhills and extreme freeride and you do huge drops and jumps well look for 6 to 8 inch of travel. tip. if you are using a hard tail do not put 7inch or higher travel coz it gives your head tube lots of stress causing them to break. if you are using a soft tail or full suspension frame, then look for a fork that has a tavel that will not go lower on your frames travel. example. if your frames suspension travel is 6 inch, do not put 5 inch fork travels. you can use 6 or 7 inch of travel. you can also check the web page of what frame you use and find out what fork is best for your bike. to other riders pls correct me if I have mistakes. coz this is what ive learned so far
