I just got my Alpine Classic entry yesterday and there are are some changes to 2006 event. The 200km and 130km remain unchanged, but there are three new rides:
140km, Bright - Mt Beauty - Bright - Mt Buffalo - Bright 72km, Bright - Mt Beauty - Bright 70km Bright - Mt Buffalo - Bright Some rides for climbing newbies.

Gday there, I've already posted my own thread about gearing for this event, but have you made any changes to your bike? I'm riding a double 52/39 and 11-23, but am thinking about changing the last little gears to 26 teeth. I'm doing the 200km ride, and have never ridden a real mountain before!

I did the 100km ride last with a 39-53 and 12-25. I felt that this was OK, but my cadance did get a bit low on the steeper pitches.
