Very nice seeing all the new faces, it was a good crowd there tonight.
Had to leave before I became a danger to myself on the crutches though. Hope you and Kathy will join us all again. -- Skewer. dave wrote: > dave wrote: > >> Next Melbourne Wheels of Justice Meeting/informal >> get-together/gate-crash of PuBBUG session. >> >> 7pm+ Friday 26th August. Yes, it was a jolly evening. Kinda turned into a aus.bicycle/PubBUG/WoJ/Critic*l M*ss gatecrash. Had about 20 people rock up with various comings and goings during the evening. If you weren't present, we made an *Executive Decision* to make these informal little sessions into a forthnightly event. ED made by suggesting the idea, thinking about it for approx 1.3 seconds, then yours truly slapping ones hand down hard on the table to make the decision final. All present agreed to the ED. See you all in a f/n, plus bring a friend. Who's turn is the chip run next time? ![]() |

Everyone talked to us, even though I hadn't been to anything bike-related other than the WoJ ride in the city a while ago, which I really appreciated - bike riders are people, and they chat to strangers, and everything... ![]() See you again soon |

As far as I know this was actually announced a while ago on here - which is how Dave and I knew about it - but you must have missed that. But as was said by cfsmtb - see you in two weeks time! ![]() |

I'll do the chip run...but remind me some-one, any one, anyone...Beuller ! ...it was good to discuss some stuff in camera...and in front of B/Soiler's camera...and skewer's crutches... remember to secure the tables from fridayenveninghappyhourYUPs we need lots of sweaty bike clothes and helmets on the table....(near heater) and BV has no place in any cycling advocacy, cos they do nothing and they will hijack any cause they see that furthers their agenda of getting their hierachy into politics &pettybellyscrape positions etc...*warning luke robinson-digress* bye now ... smile alot and ride ride ride ![]() |

Cripes, feels like I've been crapping forever on about Eugene McGee/Wheels of Justice and organising stuff......blahblahblah. Got time, bookmark one of these links below or read some of my WoJ related ramblings on aus.bike. I'll post a summing up of our 'homework' from last evening + other stuff on the blog/forum by Monday. The blogs: http://cfsmtb.blogspot.com http://bicyclejustice.blogspot.com The idle chatter: http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/wheelsofjustice/ http://s13.invisionfree.com/AusWheels_of_Justice/ ALSO........back to the topic which has provoked and pissed off so many of us.... McGees charged with conspiracy http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=9757 11:40 AEST Sat Aug 27 2005 AAP Lawyer Eugene McGee and his brother Craig have been reported by police for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Police revealed the pair would be summonsed to formally answer the charge in court at a date to be fixed, the Adelaide Advertiser reports. Friday's police action follows a recommendation on Wednesday by Director of Public Prosecutions Stephen Pallaras, QC, to police that the pair "be charged with one count of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice or interfere with the due administration of the law". Under Section 256 of the Criminal Law Consolidation Act the offence carries a maximum penalty of four years imprisonment. This follows consideration of the confidential 14-page closed report of the Kapunda Road Royal Commission. The charges the McGees will face relate to their activities in the few hours after Eugene killed cyclist Ian Humphrey in a hit-run accident in November, 2003. During the royal commission, McGee gave evidence that his brother Craig alerted him when it was safe to go to their mother's Kapunda house after police had already been there looking for him. Craig McGee had also driven McGee to Adelaide on the night, at one point stopping at a police road block at the accident scene. |
