Default Accurate Melbourne distances

I need to check my bike computer, as I thionk it exaggerates my speed and distance by about 10%. Does anyone have accurate distance readings anywhere between East Malvern station and the city along the Gardiner's Creek / Yarra path, or anywhere between Port Melbourne and Elwood along the bike track?

Thanks

From Malvern east Station to St Kilda st: 13.6km. Checked using my PC-based Melways.

yeah, you can also measure it on the "real" Melway: each 5cm = 1km

Best way I've found to check my computer is this: lay out a tape measure on the ground. Put your front wheel at the end, and then roll forwards until you have completed one revolution (the valve is a good way to remeber where you started ). The tape measure will tell you how far you have moved, and you can then enter this into the computer as the wheel circumfrence.

you could also go to the Carnegie velodrome. I'm pretty sure it's 362 or 363m.
Why such a weird distance? Good question

My guess is that when they made it, they only had recreational/club riders in mind, and not serious racing.

By the way, it's low banks a "blunt" bends make it a very safe track for motor-pacing, etc.
