Hey all,
I want to start planning a cross country tour which begins in central jersey, and ends in California. I have never done anything like this, but I seriously want to do it. I plan on having lots of fun doing, and would like to find people to share in the experience. Any way, I'm a 22 year old male college student. I am used to riding 40-50mile loops in hilly terrain (think Bridgewater, Warren, and Oldwick area.) I don't think riding across the country will be too difficult, but who knows. I'm looking for partner(s) to ride with. Male, female, young, and old. It doesn't matter as long as your friendly and positive. Training should start sooner than later. I would like to get this feat accomplished in 2 months time. If your interested, or have any advise, please feel free to email me, or post any relevant information on this thread. Planning needs to start sooner than later. Don't miss out on the trip of a life time! -Mike |

I've just finished reading a book on cycling around the world including America by Barbara Savage, it's called Miles From Nowhere. I bought it in Barnes and Noble. It's published by the Mountain Club (or some name like that). Even though the ride took place back in 1980, some of the incidents and mishaps may be relevant to your own plans. The longest ride I've done is 400 miles in 5 days but i'd love to do something like your trip: maybe I'll be fit and able in about 2 years! Best of luck!
