I saw today in my local bike shop a Marin Tiburon which was at a good price: $1000 off apparantly. It seemed to be well equipped with 105 cranks and Ultegra rear, carbon forks etc. I had a ride and it seemed really comfortable. But, I looked on Marin's web site and it is a 2002 model. What are the potential pitfalls in buying such an old bike - my guess is 3 1/2 years in the shop/dealer.

That's OK, I bought one last week, it was made in 5th month of 98, still brand new though, its called NOS (new old stock), the price was adjusted most favourably.
