Default Problems with a Bicycle

I am, together with a fellow student, busy with an investigation about bicycles. Now is our question: which problems (as well technically as physical) are you facing when riding a bicycle? What would you liked to seen improved on the bicycle and what do you miss on the bicycle. All reactions are welcome. Greetings, Remco & Huub

I am always blown away about all the new tech coming out on bikes. Things are getting cheaper and better year after year.

In 95 I bought a Apollo Himalaya for $1000, it came with RST elastometer forks 40mm travel, 7005 frame, no name V-brakes and Alivio running gear. These days my friend's Apollo which cost $350 is lighter, longer travel fork and as well featured. IfI spent the same, I'd have disc brakes, deore running gear, way better forks....

I just ain't imaginative enough to come out with something new on bikes....
