Default Why is it S L O W? Forum takes forever to load pages.

I am having difficulties with the time it takes to re-load, view, access ppages of this forum.

Is it a slow server?
Telstra Big Pond? (MY providor)
My PC?
Just the fact I live in Wait Awhile?

Sometimes the pages jump all over the screen and are quite unstable.
Other times some of the last posts are just missing..

All other sites are ok, Yahoo can be a bit slow, but not as slow as this.

Any ideas??

Sorry to gatecrash on the pommie side of things, but I've noticed that things are becoming stupidly slow here in UK too. Bloody infuriating it is!!!

Try erasing all the porn from your cache directory. That will speed things up.

Clarkie
How did you find the pd-a520 pedals. I thinking of buying a pair.

Firefox loads faster and doesn`t have the bugs or security problems of explorer.
You can use the two on one system. They also have a email program (thunderbird) that I use but I don`t think if better or worse than other programs.

In the premier state the forum loads OK, well no slower than normal on dialup.

The PD-A520s were great, the shoes, another story, want some M038s cheap, still way too tight even with better sole support from the new pedals. I got about 10 min out of the shoes.

On the forum, all is OK everywhere else, just this site is slow. For about 2-3 hours I got nothing earlier today, just the try later page from Explorer. I'm on high speed broadband too.

I should e-mail the man, Steve, and tell him of my woes... maybe get a woman and forget about the computer...

Hi there

I don't think I ever got that email

Last weekend (2nd of oct) we added a forth server to the mix, its job is to serve most of the images and some outgoing forum generated email.

Hows the speed been this week?

cheers

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the reply. The truth is, I didn't send the e-mail.

Overall speed is better, however some of the page still come in chunks and humps up and down the screen. I noticed yesterday a similar problem with Harris Cyclery.

It may be Telstra and their narrow view of Broadband.

Tonight I have been trying to post one reply for over an hour, no go, blank screen or the IE message saying no connection.

I just rebooted Telstra and all good now, it looks like a WA network problem...
