Default Its not even safe to walk in Sydney

I think there are just too many young punks on the road in Sydney. The legal driving age should be increased to 18.

Last night I was taking a walk on the footpath, minding my own business, when a car laden with young idiots, drove past, noticed me, and turned around at the next roundabout and then proceeded to thrown a bottle at me, which narrowly missed my leg.

These idiots would probably have thot it a fun thing to run down a cyclist as well.

Just what are these idiots punks doing on the road?

did you get their numberplate?

i suppose you just can't stop idiots from being idiots

the other night i had a near death experience, and i wasn't even on my bike

me and my cous were unloading our bikes from his wife's company car (forrester)

we had decided to go for a quick spin in olympic park.

we were parked on the side of the road near the Ibis (?).... very very quiet

after we had unloaded the bikes, we were focussed on getting the front wheels back on

SUDDENLY, (i didn't even notice) this hoon in business attire decides to chuck a u-turn via a tyre frying method, he flicks around but loses control and start heading for us

He spears around me and towards my cousin who was standing behind our car, he belts into the back of the forrester, pushing it all the way up on the gutter and in the process hit my cousin almost sandwiching him into the back of the forrester

the knob gets out and apologises profusely, stating that his accelerator of his HSV Clubsport got stuck

My cousin ends up with a bruised leg and written off wife's car..... not good

Well at least they missed. We were stoppped at lights near Randwick Racecourse a couple of weeks ago when people were coming out of the racecourse just on dusk. 3 drunks noticed us on the tandem and one of them wanted a test ride. I told him to f*** off and then it was on for young and old. We were pushed off the tandem and I was king hit. The Briko lenses cut in quiet well and we had to go back up to POW hospital so that my wife could put 3 stitches in my eyebrow and three in my cheek.
Stitches came out a few days ago but there is still a bit of swelling.
Police weren't even interested as there were so many other assaults that night. Just 20mins after me there was a guy knifed in the back of the neck at the same place.

Cheers

Geoff

I did not manage to get the license plates, as I was busy trying to avoid the flying bottle. They were gone by the time I looked back.

This experience has got me really thinking about how vulnerable cyclists are to idiots in cars. All they need to do is to bump us off the road for some serious injuries.

I mean thats pretty obvious, its just that I have not thought about it seriously.

There are fools out there who just don't respect the fact that the road is for sharing. Unfortunatelly, a lot of young people i have seen seem to be good examples of that.

I was almost hit by a van yesterday as he turned his left indicator on whilst i was trying to cross a busy street. I'm not sure what he was doing, but since he was going left, that was my chance to go - and he just kept going straight ahead. I've never slammed my hand on my bars out of anger and idiocy before.

Actually, now that i remember, about a week ago i was riding along a quiet street - where a group of kids 16-18 were standing around with their skateboards and doing wheelies on their bikes. They didn't move for when a car went past - and i had to have swerve through them as i was yelled at by 3 of them for no reason.
It's just a lack of respect for elders - and i experienced that at my school a few months ago.

...but only takes a few bad apples
