New to cycling, so dont know much about the parramatta cycleway. but the link below shows the 60 places that you can connect to the m7 track. Should be good i have seen parts of the track has good lighting and have heard that when the m7 goes over a road so does the track.

Hi guys,
I made some phone calls, gone to a couple of meetings and fired off letters. Here's the rub - as I understand it. The m7 bike lane will not directly connect with the M2 cycleway (the shoulder). It will empty into the Parramatta - Windsor T-Way cycleway at Old Windsor Rd. You can then follow that into Parramatta or enter the m2 via Abbott Rd. I have been advised that cyclists WILL be able to use the M7 shoulder OR the cycleway. However, this is not yet been confirmed - so keep an eye-out. Should be good all round - esp. the Light-Horse interchange. Scotty |

It is being built now (opening late 2006) as part of the Parramatta - Windsor T-Way bus lane. Roughly, from Parra station, past Parra Park, Westmead Hosp. Coca- Cola Factory then up the length of Old Windsor Road. The cycleway is being built along side it (with occasional slight deviations). Scotty |

Yay!! No more squeezing thru traffic for a long ride (80K return). Should prove a valuable ....ummm....Ive lost the word
a valuable addition to the cycling sport. There. Got it. It will allow people of all ages to ride and enjoy themselves, be it by themselves, or with the family. Drag the kids and yourself away from the telly, and get some exercise. Good work!Hope they dont chuck a toll on it for there efforts... $2.60 each way. No concesions....

Yes, I'm looking forward to riding on it. Let's hope the councils keep the broken glass off it! The M4 cycle path is broken glass city. Most other paths are pretty poor when it comes to broken glass. I wonder who the hell breaks all those bottles.
Riding through a dozen parks in SW Sydney today I hardly saw a soul. That's why we have a looming health crisis. A sendentary lifetsyle is all too common. |

I doubt it. I ride in the inner west every weekend and occasinally through the south west and it strikes me that the parks are empty. Funny that we often hear noisy campaigns for more parks and open space, but everyone is at the shopping malls. Go figure! |

Parks are like churches: Not many people actually go to them regularly, but they still want them around (but not too close, damn you). Scotty |

They haven't announced it yet. There is still quite a lot of work to be done, so it depends on how fast they can do it (weather etc) Scotty |

Don't know, but I can guarantee that there will be a big fanfare with Guiseppi Tripodi and co, probably at the Light Horse interchange. I live pretty close to the roadworks (3km up the road), and it looks like it is winding down quite nicely. -- nerdag |
