Default High country cycle challenge

Does anyone know anything about the Holden high country cycle challenge?
See: www.highcountrycyclechallenge.com.au

I cant find out if there has been a similair event before and, if so, how it rated.
Any feedback appreciated.

$158.00 entry fee with $3 going to charity. Find it hard to imagine they will get many starters.

I had to laugh at the $3 donation to charity. 1.9% of the entry fee. Also noticed they claim the 'free' scody jersey is worth $95, whereas the ATB 'free' jersey was worth $65 (from memory). Sounds like a good ride, but I agree - very pricey. If the organisers have had the same response that this post had, I think it will be cancelled!!!

If you are going to the Tour Down Under next year the Be Active Tour is ok. About $95.00 and 2,000 riders.

Looks good, don't think I will be able to talk the other half into a trip to SA, but I will give it a go tonight...

Some other good options:
http://www.port2portcycling.com/

http://www.fruitloopshepparton.com/?file=home Stay clear of this one as "All Proceeds to: Goulburn Valley Hospice Care" :-)

I am sure you know of Around the Bay, Murray to Moyne and Bright AUDAX.

Thanks for the links. Did not know about those two. familiar with the others of course.
Perhaps the organisers of the high country challenge should take note of the more realistic 'charitable intent' (!?) of these other rides...
