....I just bought a new hardtail that came equipped with a 2005 RockShox SID Race front fork. I've put well less than 100 miles on it so far, all on moderate single track. The other day I was adjusting the shock and noticed that the negative air chamber was leaking a small amount of oil. I took it to the local bike shop and was told that the shock is fine and that a certain amount of oil leakage is normal during the "breaking in" period for a SID shock. I'm not convinced that is true, though the shock appears to be working okay. But the oil leaking (a small amount) continues and it worries me.
Does anyone have any insight on this? |
