Hey guys,
Here's the deal. I've only recently become a lot more interested in cycling, but I need to choose my first real bike. I'm not sure where to start, but maybe I'll describe what I want to use it for. The cycle will be used almost exclusively to help me survive on the streets of Manhattan. I'll probably keep a messenger bag strapped to me for books, groceries, or whatever. I would prefer to be able to hang it on my dorm wall for storage, so I guess it shouldn't be TOO heavy, right? In terms of what I was thinking of, I thought of the Specialized Expedition Sport. A local bike shop has it in stock and available for a test ride. Do you have any suggestions? I'm not looking to spend more than $300 for now, maybe to upgrade parts as I go along ![]() Thanks guys, I hope for love affair with cycling with only grow with time ![]()

If Manhattan has a DPW like Western Massachusetts may I suggest a front suspension?
Giant makes a great road/hybrid line in the Cypress. Need to upgrade the components though... specifically the crankset. |
