Default PT vs COmputrainer

I picked up a computrainer pro from a friend a while back and I really like it and training with power. So, i recently bought a powertap. I have used the pt on the ct to compare the data and the PT is consistenly 75 watts or so higher... anyone have a similar experience, hear about this or have any suggestions.

Happy New Year~!~

Have you zeroed the torque on the PT and done whatever one does to calibrate Computrainers?
That's a pretty considerable difference...

It was purchased new 2 years ago and used very little when I bought a few months back. Is there a problem with older models?

I did zero the PT and rode 3 hours this am and I have noticed that it was reading different than the ride I did yesterday outdoors. It is lower. This afternoon I am going to test it against the CT.

Thanks

you should zero your PT before every ride and calibrate your CT as well. It doesn't take a large temp. swing to throw the PT off. When I ride, I try to put my bike out 10-15min before leaving so that temps can equalize, then zero it when I'm rolling. The PT auto-zero does seem to work well but only if the ZO isn't too high to start with.

Older CT's don't have a great reputation for accuracy but 75W .. say on 200-300 would be phenomenably bad ...

My PT and CT are almost spot on.
Zero torque on PT, and calibrate CT after 10 min warm up, with resistance setting 2.00 - 2.50.
