I am newbie to cycling in Taiwan. Cycling is a very good
exercise and good to my health. Although in Taiwan, the roads are crowded of cars and motor-bikes, cycling still brings me much fun and I enjoy in it. My body is a bit too "THIN" and weight is too light. This is my biggest problem, people would considered me as un-health due to my "thin" body. How can I setup a cycling train to increase my weight or fitness ? This is not ususally found in normal discussion topics. Any replsy would be appreciated and thanks in advance. |

Cycling will make you fitter, but I don't think you will be able to devise a cycling only training plan that will help you to put on weight. If you really are too thin, then the first thing you need to look at is your diet. Secondly, you should consider a programme of weights in a gym to build up some muscle.

I suppose if you were virtually without muscle you could add some weight.
Stack up the calories, lift weights doing compound movements like squats, deadlifts, chins, rows, dips. Do some searching on the net for that (look to cyberpump.com). If you can only ride, then do some sprinting and ride hard, short intervals. Might not build much, but it'll build more than endurance riding. |
