Default Alpe d'Huez and Mt Ventoux in May and June

Howdy...

I will be at the Alpe the weekend of the 20th of May and at Mt. Ventoux around the 22nd of June.

First question: Does anyone have any good/decent low priced hotels/motels in the area (about 20 clicks within distance of the foot of the mountain) that they know of?

Second question: Anyone care to join for the climbs ? It will be a first on both occasions that I will climb ANY Tour climb in my life. My mountain list reads rather short :

- Whiteface Mountain (NY), best time 1:04
- Jay Peak (VT) a bunch of times
- Beech Mountain (NC)
- Brasstown Bald (GA)

and numerous shorter or no-name climbs around GA, NC, Quebec, NY and VT.

I am doing OK for a cyclist when it comes to climbing but am not a climber (yet). At 75 kilos (on my way to 72 hopefully) at 1.78 meters tall, 34 years and a lycra-clad road-warrior for 3 years now. Never raced, only rode 2 years in a touring club in Montreal before returning to Europe recently.

Any comments welcome.

Cheerio,

Laurent
