Default Mick Christle : R.I.P

Yesterday saw the passing of Mick Christle : brother to the Rás Tailteann founder Joe Christle, and brother to 1953 Rás winner, Colm Christle.

Those of us who raced here in Ireland would know the Christles, and Mick particularly very well.

Mick was a batchelor and lived all his life in Drimnagh.
Many's the night when some of us were on the receiving end of Mick's verbals.
He was no mean cyclist himself was Mick, as he cycled with the old Gate CC there on the Crumlin Road.

Bhuiochas le Dhia - agus go n'eiri and bothar leat, a chairde, Micheál.

And there are no secrets" - this is a hard sporting event and hard work wins it - Armstrong 2005 TDF
