I'm moving to Albany in about 2 months. I bike quite a bit around Rochester, where I live now, and am just wondering what the road bike scene is like out there. Bike friendly? Where are the best shops? Good races/rides? Any biking clubs or group rides?
Thanks! -Di |

I live about an hour north of Albany and I don't know alot about the bike scene or bike shops in Albany itself but there is a fairly good cycling community north of Albany in the Saratoga/Glens Falls area. In Albany, the Capital Bike Racing Club (www.cbrc.us) and Mohawk Hudson Cycling Club (http://webmhcc.org/v-web/portal/cms/index.php). There is great riding north of Albany in Washington, Saratoga and Warren Counties. Blue Sky Bicycles in Saratoga publishes a book of rides in the Saratoga and Washington County areas. You'll probably find less wind and more hills in this area.
