Default Where is music going? Lack of creativity

So, in one of my rare times of listening to the radio, I have realized that almost all these contemporary artists are now taking old song beats and putting their own spin on things.

The lack of creativity is becoming so sad, and yet, people praise them for it.

It's sad that these great songs are now being ruined because today's artists can't think of anything on their own.

Does any one else feel this way too?

Yes, I would mostly agree with you. There is some good new stuff, but you have to search around for it.

The average 'Merkin commercial radio station has become so corporatized and cookie-cutter that it's not worth listening to for even 5 minutes.

One example of a band that's still doing great stuff is Government Mule. Check 'em out!

http://www.mule.net/

I don't know where in New England you are, but see if you can pick up WEBK 105.3 FM in Rutland, VT. They're still independent, as in not yet swallowed by Infinity Broadcasting or Clear Channel.

Otherwise, I listen to college stations like:

~WRPI 91.5 (Renssalaer Poly Institute - Troy, NY)

~91.1 (Skidmore College, Saratoga, NY)

~90.9 (SUNY, Albany)

~89.7 (Union College, Schenectady, NY)
