Default help with sizing for bike shoes!

Hey all, hopefully someone can help me. I just bought a pair of Pearl Izumi shoes, but am not sure if I am going to keep them because of how they fit. How tight are road bike shoes supposed to be? I have gotten different answers from different people(friends, people at the store, etc). They aren't completely tight, and my heel slides a little bit up when i walk in them, but the employee at the store said that this is fine. is it? or do i need a snugger fit?

Thanks for the help!

Just got to remember that all shoes wil stretch a bit with use. As long as you can get them tight enough so when you lift you foot from the bottom to the top of your pedal stroke your foot should not slide in the shoe. Can you try a half size smaller?

Good luck with it
