Hi, I am a 31 yo French guy planning a 6 to 8 weeks bike tour in the Rockies from Calgary to Denver via Yellowstone and Utah. The benefits: greatest US NP, tremendeous scenic routes, meeting with people on the road, building up this tour team, …
Anyone interested in to further discuss this project? I am not a long distance tour specialist but have already done several 10 day tours in France and Spain. On my side, the idea is to ride an average 50 miles (80 km) a day and maybe to keep a day off in the week (for visits, recovering, …). Either camping or hiring a room. A 2 months ride, departure approx. July 3rd 2006. All these conditions to be discussed among riding partners. Short time window: if interested in, please email me on marcsf@free.fr before June 20th. As I am based in Paris, it will hard to meet up before: I propose to further discuss on the phone to get to know each other and set up this Rocky cycling tour ! Marc |

Marc, Whiule Yellowstone is indeed very nice and very cool place, the roads in the park are terrible. Especially those that go through the park north to south. I would avoid going directly through Yellowstone and try just skirting the west side. The road from West Yellowstone into the park and down to the old faithful area is not too bad. I live about 100 miles North of there in Bozeman, MT, if there is anything else I can advise about this area let me know. Terry
