Howdy all, I'm new to this group but look forward to being an active member. I wanted to bring some attention to the hobby of Geocaching because it may appeal to some X country riders. The Southern Ontario group just had our first Geocycle caching day last Sunday around Hamilton and it was great fun. Basically we are combining cycling the Geocaching and making a day of it. Its not a competitive thing although some riders do ride competitively elsewhere. We plan a route to take in lots of caches and go do it. The day is usually fraught with various navigation gaffes and great cameraderie. Its usually a long day with lots of off-road though and probably wouldn't appeal to riders with CCM boardwalk cruisers. Anyway, check it out and let me know if you're interested or have any questions. We had riders out from Bolton, Nobleton, Oakville, Brampton and Hamilton last time. Our next ride will be in Toronto down the Don Valley and other areas too.
Cheers! |
