Default Polar CS200cad - any good??

Gday,

I have been looking into buying a heart rate monitor in recent times. One I've got my eye on is the Polar CS200cad. Basically the features I really want are cadence, current and average speed and heart rate. I just have a couple of questions:

* Does anyone own one of these and what do you think of them?? What are the pros and cons??

* I would guess that with Polar you pay a bit for the name - is there something else in a different brand that would do the trick just as well??

* I like the idea of being to upload data from each session to your computer - how easy is it to do this and do people find this feature useful??

Cheers,

Sam

I have this computer. I haven't played it around much. My only complaint is the cadence sensor is easily hit by my foot and lost the connection. but the rest of the features I find work well.

And I just found out it has background light too.

Where have you placed the cadence sensor for your foot to hit it? If placed in the correct place - on the downtube, then your foot should be nowhere near it.

I have had no dramas with mine for the year that I have had it. Works well, and the data gets transferred quite easily once you set your microphone up.

I put at the down tube as well. But I hit accidently when I wobble and not wearing the bike shoes. And since the sensor must be around 4 mm from the magnet, a slight bump will make the sensor lose its connection.

Anyway, overall I'm very happy with the computer, if you are ok to spend a few hundred dollars, you won't be disappointed with this computer.
