Default Not selling cell phones but need MTB advice

I finally got a taste of true offroad riding at Turkey Mtn. in Tulsa, OK today. Wow, much tougher than I thought. So, I've got a mtn. bike race in Kansas in about 6 weeks. Let me know what I should do to continue improving. My thought is, offroad, offroad and more offroad. I'm racing in the Clydesdale class but would like to at least have a fairly good showing. I'm not sure what to expect. I literally ripped off both my toe clips today but am not sure how the trail in Arkansas City, Kansas compares to Turkey Mtn. I hear Turkey Mtn. is quite a bit more technical than a lot of trails but now I'm getting skiddish after my marginal performance today. If anyone has any thoughts on how my training should progress, please contribute. The road riding I've been doing has had a little benefit I'm sure, just not near as much as I would have expected. This offroad stuff is for the big boys and I've got a lot of growing to do in the next 5-6 weeks. Thanks, Greg
